Association lipid peroxidation and antioxidant system activity with glutathione s-transferase M1 genotype in menopausal women with insomnia
Introduction: Glutathione system is the one of the important components of the antioxidant defense system which protects against oxidative stress. Its activity is determined by the polymorphic variants of the corresponding genes. Along with this, it is possible, that main consequences of sleep loss may be oxidative stress. The aim of this research is to assess lipid peroxidation and antioxidant protection system parameters in Caucasian menopausal women with insomnia depending on the glutathione S-transferase M1 genotype.
