This 39-page case study is one in a series of five research pieces which fed into the analysis for The State of the Humanitarian System 2018, and describes conditions in Bangladesh. It focuses specifically on the response to the Rohingya refugee crisis. In order to achieve a sustainable solution, a major shift in policy will be required, easing pressure on Bangladesh, enhancing refugee self-reliance, expanding access to third-country solutions, and supporting conditions in the country of origin to allow a safe and dignified return.
