Serotonin boosts neuronal powerplants protecting against stress

This study (Fanibunda et al., 2019) published in PNAS, identifies a previously unknown role for serotonin in regulating neuronal energetics. This has important implications for the stress buffering effects of serotonin, and identifies novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders.
