Unfair Pay Leads to Staffing Shortage in Washington Ambulance Service

YAKIMA, Wash. (KOMO) - "We were told that we were replaceable," said EMT Dwight Derby. But, it appears replacing the EMT's and paramedics at Advanced Life Services in Yakima hasn’t been that easy; that’s according to Derby who said he's been an EMT with ALS since 2001. "I’ve seen about 200 people have come and left this company since then, and they didn’t leave just because they didn’t like the job that they were doing. They left because they felt like they weren’t treated fairly," said Derby. MORE
