Antimicrobial use in UK long-term care facilities: results of a point prevalence survey
Analysis of data on 17,909 residents in UK from point prevalence survey conducted by community pharmacists (CPHs) noted high prophylactic use of antibiotics [ABs; 25.3%). Pharmacists intervened for 9.5% of AB prescription events; 53.4% of interventions were for clinical reasons.
