Response to commentaries on ʻVariations of sex development first German interdisciplinary consensus paper’

The authors of the consensus paper represent the main medical clinics, institutions, and organizations in Germany involved with disorders of sexual development (DSD) patients. With regard to the structure of the consensus paper, there is a distinction between an S2k-  and S3-level paper. An S2k-level paper requires the participation of persons who represent those institutions/groups for whom the consensus is written. A formal consensus process has to be guaranteed, but a systematic review of the literature is not necessary.
