HER2 positive breast cancer: Treatment de-escalation needs to be personalized

(European Society for Medical Oncology) De-escalation approaches in the treatment of women with HER2 positive breast cancer need to be personalized, according to Dr. Carmen Criscitiello, European Institute of Oncology, Milan, Italy. AbstractBackgroundCharacterization of breast cancer phenotypes has improved our ability to predict breast cancer behavior. Triple-negative (TN) breast cancers have higher and earlier rates of distant events.
