Vivid Navy video depicts horrors of bath salts

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhlaHwnErBI Several weeks ago the U.S. Navy Medical Corps released “Bath Salts: It’s Not a Fad, It’s a Nightmare”, a 6-minute video warning recruits about the dangers of using bath salts. Mostly filmed from the point-of-view of a sailor who overdoses on a “bath salt” product ordered over the internet, the video depicts the paranoia, violence, and delirium that often accompanies exposure to these designer drugs. Apparently bath salts and other designer drugs now have become a significant problem for the Navy and other branches of he military. Acccording to Forbes.com, the U.S. Navy reported an “alarming increase” in use of these products, a trend that results in the discharge of 1515 sailors in the year 2011 alone. An earlier video released by the Navy emphasized the hazards of “Spice” and other synthetic cannabinoids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-5Sm8rNPr8 Tip of the Hat to the Oklahoma Poison Control Center, whose Facebook post brought the Navy’s video to my attention.
