The NPs with the BET surface areas of 250–350 m2/g exhibited the spherical particle sizes of 100–150 nm, indicating the nanoporous structures. The MB molecular states adsorbed on the NPs prepared by solvent extraction method (WT) were attributed to both the monomer and dimer states, whereas those on the NPs prepared by the baking at 250 °C (BT) were dominantly attributed to the monomer state, indicating the adsorbed states would be affected by the surface functional groups. The singlet oxygen generation efficiency from the MB adsorbed on the BT NPs were higher than that on the WT NPs, and those of the NPs were higher as compared with that the MB alone. Therefore, the generation efficiency would be controlled by the titania surface condition.
