The objective of this study was to assess the patterns and predictors of depression treatment among older adults with dPD in the US. We adopted a cross-sectional study design by pooling multiple-year data (2005-2011) from the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NAMCS) and the outpatient department of the National Hospital Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NHAMCS). The final study sample consisted of visits by older adults with dPD. Depression treatment was defined as antidepressant use with or without psychotherapy. To identify predictors of depression treatment, multivariate logistic regression analysis was conducted a...

Conclusions: "rRNA processing," "cytoplasm," "metabolic pathways," and "TNF signaling pathway" were key pathways involved in PD. ICAM1, hsa-miR-7-5p, hsa-miR-433-3p, hsa-miR-133b, and the abovementioned six TFs might play important roles in PD development. PMID: 29686831 [PubMed]

CONCLUSIONS: The magnitude of TI in antiplatelet therapy in patients who had already suffered a cardiovascular event was very high. TI was associated with being a woman, having a high cultural level, and not being diagnosed with hypertension or dyslipidemia. More studies are needed to corroborate these results to take the appropriate measures to reduce TI. PMID: 29690773 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

We present eight patients with this rare condition together with an overview of the literature on all published ONM cases. One of the presented cases is possibly secondary to hypovitaminosis D. This association has not been reported previously in the literature. A possible underlying mechanism is given. PMID: 29693497 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Authors: Malmberg Gavelin H, Eskilsson T, Boraxbekk CJ, Josefsson M, Stigsdotter Neely A, Slunga Järvholm L Abstract Stress-related exhaustion has been associated with selective and enduring cognitive impairments. However, little is known about how to address cognitive deficits in stress rehabilitation and how this influences stress recovery over time. The aim of this open-label, parallel randomized controlled trial (ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT03073772) was to investigate the long-term effects of 12 weeks cognitive or aerobic training on cognitive function, psychological health, and work ability for patient...
