Identification of Potential Crucial Genes Associated With the Pathogenesis and Prognosis of Endometrial Cancer

Identification of Potential Crucial Genes Associated With the Pathogenesis and Prognosis of Endometrial Cancer Li Liu, Jiajing Lin and Hongying He* Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Liuzhou Worker’s Hospital, Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University, Liuzhou, China Background and Objective: Endometrial cancer (EC) is a common gynecological malignancy worldwide. Despite advances in the development of strategies for treating EC, prognosis of the disease remains unsatisfactory, especially for advanced EC. The aim of this study was to identify novel genes that can be used as potential biomarkers for identifying the prognosis of EC and to construct a novel risk stratification using these genes. Methods and Results: An mRNA sequencing dataset, corresponding survival data and expression profiling of an array of EC patients were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas and Gene Expression Omnibus, respectively. Common differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified based on sequencing and expression as given in the profiling dataset. Pathway enrichment analysis of the DEGs was performed using the Database for Annotation, Visualization, and Integrated Discovery. The protein–protein interaction network was established using the string online database in order to identify hub genes. Univariate and multivariable Cox regression analyses were used to screen prognostic DEGs and to construct a prognostic signature. Survival analysis based on th...

For ultra-sensitive sensing of CEA with great specificity and accuracy, an innovative and reliable electrochemical immunosensor was developed using various nano-hybrids. A glassy carbon electrode (GC) was modified with thiolated graphene oxide (T-GO) to elevate the active surface area of the electrode. The strept...

Conclusions: Routine coagulation indices can predict nasopharygeal carcinoma, with the combination of prothrombin time, APTT and PDW being strongest. The combination of APTT, fibrinogen and FDPs provides a useful score to predict metastases. These indices should be considered in the diagnosis and staging of this disease. Authors: Kerekes K, Bányai L, Trexler M, Patthy L Abstract Wnts and Hedgehogs (Hh) are large, lipid-modified extracellular morphogens that play key roles in embryonic development and stem cell proliferation of Metazoa. Both morphogens signal through heptahelical Frizzled-type receptors of the G-Protein Coupled Receptor family and there are several other similarities that suggest a common evolutionary origin of the Hh and Wnt pathways. There is evidence that the secreted protein, Wnt inhibitory factor 1 (WIF1) modulates the activity of both Wnts and Hhs and may thus contribute to the intertwining of these pat...

ConclusionAvailable data suggest that the information needs of people with low back pain are centred around their desire for a diagnosis, potentially contributing to expectations for and overuse of imaging. People with low back pain expressed a strong desire for clear, consistent and personalised information on prognosis, treatment options and self-management strategies, related to healthcare and occupational issues. To correct unhelpful beliefs and optimise delivery of evidence-based therapy, patient and healthcare professional education (potentially by an integrated public health approach) may be warranted.

Authors: Jenabi E, Bashirian S, Khazaei S, Basiri Z Abstract This meta-analysis evaluated the association between maternal pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) and the risk of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) among children and adolescents. The search strategy was conducted until December 2018 in databases of PubMed, Web of Science and Scopus. The ORs or HRs with 95% confidence intervals (CI) extracted from eligible studies used as the common measure of association among studies. A significant association was found between overweight women and risk of ADHD among children with the pooled estimates of H...

To investigate the relationships and the underlying drivers of soil bacterial community structure, we established a thre...
