Source: World Health Organization, Regional Office for Africa. Published: 3/2019. This 14-page Plan of Action was developed with the World Health Organization Regional Office for South-East Asia during the Third Global Conference on Health and Climate Change, which was held in March 2018 and organized as a regionally dispersed conference with a focus on small island developing states (SIDS). The initiative aims to lead the way in transforming health services in SIDS away from a model of curative services with escalating costs, and toward one based on disease prevention, climate resilience, and sustainability.
