Effect of binders and additives to tailor the electrochemical performance of Sb2Te3-TiC alloy anodes for high-performance sodium-ion batteries

This study highlights the performance-enhancing adhesion capabilities of a functional binder (PAA), and the film-forming and pacifying capabilities of the FEC additive.Graphical abstractNanocomposite of Sb2Te3-TiC is synthesized by a simple and scalable high-energy mechanical milling process and heat treatment as a high-performance anode material for sodium-ion batteries. The enhanced performance of the electrode is attributed to the combined effects of the functional binder and the electrolyte additive, which engenders the anode with superior capacity retention and enhanced cyclability.
