Risk Factors for Progression Among Low-Grade Gliomas Following Gross Total Resection and Initial Observation in the Molecular Era

Modern genetic characterization has improved our understanding of prognosis for low-grade glioma (LGG). Although several classic risk factors are known to impact progression free survival (PFS), we sought to identify risk factors in the molecular era. Among patients with LGG who undergo MRI-confirmed gross total resection and initial observation, risk factors for worse PFS include increasing age, increasing tumor size, and IDH-mutant-1p/19q-intact classification. Further study is required to elucidate our findings.
