The relation between serum levels of Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) and necrotizing enterocolitis in preterm neonates.

Conclusion: patients with NEC had significantly lower serum levels of EGF (p<.001) indicating that EGF could be a reliable marker of NEC in preterm neonates.
