606 The role of diet in patients with autoimmune blistering disease: A survey of the International Pemphigus and Pemphigoid Foundation

Autoimmune blistering skin disorders (AIBD) are chronic, debilitating conditions which affect the skin and mucous membranes. Food intolerances have been studied in inflammatory conditions including inflammatory bowel disease, asthma, and cardiovascular disease. Multiple studies have established nutrients ’ ability to alter the microbiota, influence the innate immune system, and modulate inflammation. We sought to assess the role of various food groups in AIBDs. Two hundred patients were surveyed through the International Pemphigus and Pemphigoid Foundation e-mail listserv.
