This article reviews the development and summarizes the state-of-the-art in absorbed dose calorimetry for all the common clinical beam modalities covered in reference dosimetry codes of practice, as well as for small and nonstandard fields, and brachytherapy. It focuses primarily on work performed in the last ten years by national laboratories and research institutions and is not restricted to primary standard instruments. The most recent absorbed dose calorimetry review article was published over twenty years ago by Ross and Klassen (1996), and even then, its scope was limited to water calorimeters. Since the application ...

Authors: Wu Y, Chen Q, Chen K, He F, Quan J, Chen S, Guo X Abstract BACKGROUND: Recent studies have shown that ultrasound-guided injection of glucocorticoids is superior to blind puncture methods. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate clinical efficacy of ultrasound-guided drug injection in the treatment of olecranon subcutaneous bursitis. METHODS: From June 2016 to September 2018, 45 patients diagnosed with obvious synovial effusion and treated with ultrasound-guided injection therapy for olecranon bursitis were included in this study. Under the guidance of ultrasound, the synovial effusion aspiration was performed and 2...

ConclusionIt is important to differentiate and diagnose lytic lesions of clavicle. Early MRI and Biopsy of the lesion helps in preventing an undue delay in diagnosis. Most lesions when diagnosed in time have excellent results.

Conclusion: Considering the radiological report, no significance was found for the observed changes. Atelectasis was not the most frequently observed change. The predisposing factors for these changes were extreme prematurity, low weight, male sex, a poorly positioned endotracheal tube and the use of invasive mechanical ventilation.

Emergency diagnostics demand fast, easily available, and cost-effective procedures. The higher the accuracy of radiological imaging, the better it supports the surgeon in decision-making for further treatment. Cone-beam computed tomography has been proven to be a reliable tool in diagnosing fractures of the hand and distal forearm. It can be easily installed, has a high spatial resolution, and a potentially lower radiation dose when compared with multislice computed tomography or a series of plain x-rays.

Introduction: Elastic stable intramedullary nailing (ESIN) allows for efficient reduction and stabilization of fractures of the tibial shaft in children and adolescents. However, for fractures of the distal third of the tibia, traditional ESIN could be inappropriate, thus compromising the stability and the healing of the fracture. The aim of this study was to present and to assess a new technique of modified ESIN to treat fracture of the distal third of the tibia, called divergent intramedullary nailing (DIN). Methods: We performed a retrospective monocentric study. All patients less than 16 years old, managed in our ...
