ConclusionsThese data demonstrate that moderate exercise in hypoxia impairs the capacity to enhance venous return during the metaboreflex stimulated in normoxia. Overall, there is a functional shift from a flow to vasoconstriction-mediated mechanism for maintaining the target blood pressure during the metaboreflex.
