To get insight of their various aspects of corrosion inhibition of mild steel in 1 M HCl, various standard methods were employed i.e., weight loss, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, polarization, FT-IR, scanning electron microscopy, and DFT. The results obtained from these methods clearly revealed the linear dependency of inhibition potential with the surface activity, concentration of inhibitor molecules as well as the temperature of the system. The theoretical results were found to be in close agreement with the experimental measurements.Graphical abstract
