Despite more violent crimes, it's safer to be a cop today than 50 years ago

(Florida Atlantic University) Dangers of policing have dramatically declined since 1970 with a 75 percent drop in police officer line-of-duty deaths. In the context of nearly 50-year monthly trends, the study also shows a statistically significant decline in felonious killings of police following the Ferguson effect and Michael Brown's death in 2014, which directly contradicts the war on cops' theory.
