CONCLUSIONS: The assessment of pain, sedation and delirium is demonstrated, and low percentages of agitation and delirium achieved. We observed a high percentage of patients with pain, and moderate use of PC. We should generalise the use of protocols to assess, prevent and treat pain and delirium by appropriately managing analgesia, sedation, and individual and well-considered use of PC. PuffSummaryThe present report describes a case of a post-traumatic ocular leiomyosarcoma in a calf (Bos primigenius taurus) including clinical, histopathological and immunohistochemical features. Following a traumatic episode, the animal developed opacification of the lens and shrinkage of the eye. Subsequently, the ocular lesion increased in size over a period of 6 weeks and reached up to 16 cm in diameter with infiltration into the cranium. At necropsy examination, the kidneys, liver and spleen e...

We report a case of 2 years old female child presented to emergency with history of fall from stairs on an outstretched hand. Radiograph showed a metaphyseal spike in the proximal radius which prompted us to think of a radial neck fracture. Since the radial head was not ossified, the amount of displacement and angulation was not exactly quantifiable on radiographs only. Hence an arthrogram was planned. Intra operative use of radio opaque dye injection into elbow joint delineates the radial head and capitellum. It helps in identifying the fracture morphology and will also assist in reduction. We reduce radial head by K wire...

The extraordinary success of orthotopic corneal allografts, in both humans and experimental animals, is related to the phenomenon of “immune privilege”. Inflammation is self-regulated to preserve ocular functions because the eye has immune privilege. At present, three major mechanisms are considered to provide immune privilege in ...

The results showed that POS significantly reduced the total liver fat content and the levels of hepatic pro-inflammatory factors tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and interleukin-6 (IL-6), while increased the level of interleukin-10 (...
