New Jersey Agency: Companies Must Pay Costs Associated With Tainted Groundwater

TRENTON, N.J. - The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) on March 25 issued a directive to a group of chemical companies notifying them that it considers them liable for "the significant contamination" of the state's air and groundwater with poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) (In the Matter of Poly- and Perfluoroalkyl Substances Generated By: Solvay Specialty Polymers U.S.A. LLC, et al., N.J. DEP).
