Defendant: Glyphosate Cancer Case Should Be Dismissed; Roundup Remains Safe

SAN FRANCISCO - The Wilbur-Ellis Feed Co. on March 18 filed an answer in California federal court contending that the court should dismiss a lawsuit against it by residents who claim that their exposure to glyphosate, the active ingredient in the herbicide Roundup, caused them to develop cancer because glyphosate-based herbicides "create no unreasonable risk to human health" (In re Roundup Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2741, N.D. Calif.).
