Oregon health care growth rate bill moves forward

A bill that designed to contain the growth of health care costs in Oregon passed its first major hurdle in the Legislature. The Senate Committee on Health Care on Monday referred Senate Bill 889 to the Joint Committee on Ways and Means. The bill would establish a health care cost growth benchmark for increases in total health expenditures. The benchmark would be reviewed annually.
