CDC: Proposed Data Collection Submitted for Public Comment and Recommendations

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) invites comments on a new, proposed information collection, "Drug Overdose Surveillance and Epidemiology (DOSE)." DOSE would provide information on emergency department (ED) visits related to suspected opioid, heroin, stimulant, and other drug overdoses and standardize related CDC case definitions. The data collection would be funded at a state level for the 50 state health departments, Puerto Rico, and D.C. and aggregate data already collected for monthly reporting to the CDC. Comments are due June 3, 2019.
