Chittiboyina, Wei Wang, Alvaro M. Viljoen, Ikhlas A. KhanAbstractSceletorines A and B, two unique alkaloids, were isolated for the first time from the aerial parts of Mesembryanthemum tortuosum. Their structures were determined by the extensive spectroscopic methods and their absolute configuration was established with ECD calculations. Plausible biosynthetic pathways for 1 and 2 are proposed and a relationship to the previously assumed artifact, channaine is also addressed.Graphical abstract
