Newborn Heart Screening

As of 2018, all 50 US states and the District of Columbia have implemented mandatory or voluntary screening for critical congenital heart disease (CCHD) in newborns, according to areport by the CDC, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Association of Public Health Laboratories ’ Newborn Screening Technical Assistance and Evaluation Program (NewSTEPs).
