Native Means for Graft Stabilization - Host Descemetic Scaffolding and Wound Scaffolding for Decreasing the Risk of Graft Detachment in Descemet ’s Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty and Pre-Descemet’s Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty

We report a technique of using host Descemet’s membrane or the incision for graft scaffolding. The Descemetorhexis is created 0.5mm smaller than the graft from between one quadrant to 360 degr ees, preferably in two opposite quadrants. Using the Jacob technique of pressurized air infusion (air pump assisted PDEK), host Descemet’s membrane is gently teased out from under the graft using a reverse Sinskey hook and allowed to overlap the graft from the posterior aspect in a scaffolding man ner.
