In Reply: Pulmonary Artery Pressure as Classification Index in Lung Transplantation

First, we would like to thank Fessler and Fischler for their interest in our article “Predicting the Necessity for Extracorporeal Circulation During Lung Transplantation: A Feasibility Study.” In their letter to the editor, Fessler and Fischler inquire about the anesthetic management and argue that pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) might be superior to the mean pulmonary arter y pressure (mPAP) in predicting the necessity of extracorporeal circulation because it takes the cardiac output into account.
