Accuracy of blood glucose measurements using the NOVA StatStrip ® glucometer during cardiac surgery: a prospective observational study.

CONCLUSION: Arterial blood glucose measurement by StatStrip was accurate before CPB, but lacked accuracy during and after CPB. Glucose values should be interpreted with caution when intensive glucose control protocols are being used during cardiac surgery.
