Management of anomalous pancreaticobiliary junction

We read with interest the Focal Point case report by Ma and Bourke1 describing symptomatic benign distal biliary stricture in the setting of anomalous pancreaticobiliary junction (APBJ), pancreaticobiliary maljunction, treated with metal biliary and temporary plastic pancreatic stents. They described a young woman who underwent multiple ERCPs for choledocholithiasis and cholangitis because of  a distal biliary stricture and APBJ. After placement of biliary and pancreatic stents, the patient’s pain improved significantly.
