EAST HADDAM, Conn. (WTNH) - A meeting is set to take place on Saturday to discuss a growing concern in East Haddam where a number of EMS volunteers resigned from their positions, putting a bit of strain on neighboring communities. Ten people have left East Haddam Ambulance since the beginning of the year. It's a non-profit organization that gets about 800 calls a year. Since they're down so many people, about 20 percent of the emergency calls in East Haddam are being taken care of by other emergency crews in neighboring towns like Haddam, Lyme, East Hampton, and Colchester.
