CONCLUSIONS: The 2019 EULAR/ACR criteria for SLE had comparable performance to the 2012 SLICC criteria regarding diagnostic sensitivity and specificity in Korean population of SLE and other rheumatic diseases. However, the new criteria could not reach higher specificity than the 2012 SLICC criteria. PMID: 32083550 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

CONCLUSIONS: Male gender, exposure to high cumulative doses of prednisone, family history of early arterial vascular disease and occurrence of previous arterial thrombosis are independent risk predictors of arterial vascular events in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. Abnormal ABI may be related to high risk for arterial vascular events. PMID: 32083548 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

CONCLUSIONS: Testing for autoantibodies against both Ro peptides may aim diagnosis, classify clinical manifestations in disease entities and define prognosis in certain autoimmune disorders. A distinct weight could be given to the isolated anti-Ro specificities in the SS classification criteria. PMID: 32083547 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

CONCLUSIONS: In this cohort the most frequent damage item was renal and was related to the disease itself. Damage score was higher in patients with more severe disease and treated more aggressively. Our results suggest that more effective treatment options are needed in a subgroup of patients with IgA vasculitis to prevent the damage related with the vasculitis, especially with more severe disease. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings suggest that improvement in MMP-3 levels is key to predicting the clinical efficacy of abatacept. Closer attention paid not only to major clinical indices, but also changes in MMP-3 levels, could improve our ability to optimise clinical results when treating bio-switch patients. CONCLUSIONS: GC treatment has implications in CVR, despite in SSc GC doses administered are lower than in other autoimmune diseases (in our cohort even prednisone ≤10 mg daily was associated with ED). GC may be associated with an early vascular damage in these patients, which could lead to changes in FMD, ED and finally AP. On the other hand, optimum levels of 25(OH)D3 seemed to be beneficial against vascular damage. PMID: 32083542 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Authors: Ceccarelli F, Orefice V, Perrone G, Pirone C, Perricone C, Truglia S, Miranda F, Pacucci VA, Spinelli FR, Galoppi P, Alessandri C, Valesini G, Conti F Abstract OBJECTIVES: We evaluated age at natural menopause and the prevalence of premature ovarian failure (POF) in a monocentric Caucasian cohort of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). METHODS: In this cross-sectional study, we enrolled women affected by SLE compared with healthy controls (HC) to investigate data about natural menopause (amenorrhoea for at least 12 months at ≥40 years) and POF (amenorrhoea for at least 12 months at
