International Society for Heart & Lung Transplantation Nursing, Health Sciences and Allied Health Research Grant ISHLT issues two Nursing, Health Sciences and Allied Health Research Grant Awards annually. Each award is in the amount of up to $12,000. The funding period is for one year. PURPOSE: The purpose of this award is to encourage qualified allied health professionals to conduct research related to the areas of end-stage heart and lung disease and transplantation. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: The PI must be a current member of the ISHLT and the Council on Nursing, Health Science, and Allied Health. The PI must be a member of an allied health profession, including nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nutritionists, respiratory therapists, social workers, psychologists, and physician assistants.  Physicians and physicians in training are not eligible. The PI must have at least a bachelor's degree. The PI may be a new or established researcher. The PI must have either direct clinical or research experience in the allied health professions named above. The grant may be for new or ongoing research.
