Human lens weights with increasing age.

Conclusions: The data support the biphasic growth model for human lenses. Male lenses are significantly larger than female lenses at the conclusion of the prenatal growth mode, but the rate of weight accrual is constant thereafter. Lens weights increase continuously throughout life and can be described with equations that incorporate terms for prenatal and postnatal growth. PMID: 30820139 [PubMed - in process]
