5. Treatment and Outcomes in Girls with Rhabdomyosarcoma of the Genitourinary Tract in the Fellows Research Consortium
Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is the most common soft tissue tumor of childhood. Genitourinary (GU) RMS was initially treated with radical removal of reproductive organs, but there has been a shift toward organ-sparing surgeries with chemotherapy (chemo) and radiation (RT) as per the Intergroup Rhabdomyosarcoma Study Group (IRSG). Due to the rarity of GU RMS, treatment is still variable. The goal of our multicenter study is to describe treatment and outcomes in GU RMS and to discern if there is an association between patient or disease characteristics and proposed treatment.
