Highwoods, developer of Laser Spine's $56 million Tampa headquarters, responds to sudden closure

The North Carolina developer that built and owns Laser Spine Institute's Tampa headquarters outlined on Sunday how the company's sudden closure will affect it. Highwoods Properties Inc. (NYSE: HWI) developed the 176,000-square-foot building in Westshore's Avion Park after Laser Spine signed a long-term lease in 2014. Development costs were pegged at $56 million. Laser Spine on Friday announced it was ceasing all operations, effective immediately, termi nating the employment of nearly 600 people.…
