The Resident Preliminary Report: Benefits of a Second Read

We read the excellent essay by Davenport et  al, “The Resident Preliminary Report,” with great interest [1]. The authors address the recent trend at academic medical centers for providing overnight radiology coverage using attending radiologists. We have also recently discussed this issue [2].
