Don't expect the V Foundation to make a billion-dollar royalty deal anytime in the near future; that's not a part of its playbook.
Last week, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation sold royalty rights to drugs by Vertex Pharmaceuticals for $3.3 billion, or 17 times its revenue from 2012.
