Comparison of Outcomes and Characteristics of Emergency Medical Services (EMS)-Witnessed, Bystander-Witnessed, and Unwitnessed Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrests in Singapore.

Conclusions EMS-witnessed OHCAs were more likely to have favorable outcomes compared to bystander-witnessed and unwitnessed OHCAs. High PEA rates in EMS-witnessed arrests were associated with older patients with underlying pre-existing medical conditions. Increasing public awareness on recognition of prodromal symptoms and early activation of EMS could improve post-arrest survival and neurological outcomes of OHCA.
