We have investigated the transcriptional consequences of deleting Vps1, a DNM2 homologue, in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Interestingly, the vps1 ∆ mutation causes strong transcriptional defects also in yeast.Data suggest that DNM2 and Vps1 play an essential regulatory role connecting several membrane-related processes including endocytosis, lipid homeostasis and different signal transduction pathways.
