03:36 PM Abstract No. 282 Cryoablation of adrenal metastases: is adrenergic blockade necessary?

There is a paucity of data regarding the need for preoperative adrenergic blockade prior to cryoablation for adrenal gland metastases. The largest adrenal ablation cohort (Fintelmann, JVIR 2015) found a 43% rate of hypertensive crisis but had combined data from different ablation modalities which precluded conclusions about the incidence of hypertensive crisis prior to cryoablation. The purpose of our study is to evaluate the safety of cryoablation of adrenal gland metastases performed without preprocedure adrenergic blockade.
