ConclusionsAssisted reproductive techniques and in-vitro culture have been associated with an increased frequency of embryo splitting. This has been postulated to be linked to the in-vitro hatching method observed at the blastocyst stage of development. This case report highlights the need to objectively assess any splitting of the ICM, beyond standard grading of the quality of the ICM and the trophectoderm. Such assessments of ICM splitting should be routine practice in clinical embryology when selecting embryos for transfer.

ConclusionsSmoking during pregnancy is associated with an increased risk for GDM. Offspring birthweight is lowest in women, who continue smoking after the first trimester. If pregnancy is complicated by GDM, offspring birthweight is not influenced by smoking.

ConclusionsWe present data from 35 cases of exome sequencing applied in a setting of fetal malformations. Importantly, though, we wish to share our personal experiences with implementing WES into a prenatal setting. As a medical society, we must continue to share what we do not understand, what went wrong, what is difficult, and what we do not agree upon. A common understanding and language are warranted. We also advocate that more research is needed concerning the clinical value, as well as costs and patient perspectives, of using WES in pregnancy. We believe that WES will lead to improved prenatal and perinatal care.

Conclusions: Available data showed that pregnant patients in late pregnancy had clinical manifestations similar to non-pregnant adults. It appears that the risk of fetal distress, preterm delivery and prelabor rupture of membranes (PROM) rises with the onset of COVID-19 in the third trimester of pregnancy.
