Early diagnosis of necrotizing enterocolitis by plasma RELM β and thrombocytopenia in preterm infants: A pilot study

As the inflammatory regulators, Resistin-like molecule β (RELMβ) and Resistin might be potential biomarkers of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), while thrombocytopenia is often related to the severity of NEC, clinical observation suggests that thrombocytopenia might be an early biomarker of NEC. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether RELMβ, Res istin and thrombocytopenia could be biomarkers for early diagnosis of NEC in preterm infants.
