Cardiac magnetic resonance including parametric mapping in acute Takotsubo syndrome: Preliminary findings

ConclusionsNative T1 and T2 mapping, as well as ECV fraction, discriminate between visually affected vs. unaffected segments in patients with acute Takotsubo syndrome and reveal significant T1 and T2 tissue changes even in visually unaffected segments. Thus, mapping may allow for better detection in convalescent stages of disease and additionally may have the potential to serve as a marker of disease progress. These preliminary findings warrant further investigation in a larger patient cohort.
