Medicaid funding package heads to Oregon Senate
The Oregon House passed Gov. Kate Brown's $465 million funding package for Medicaid and sent it on to the Oregon Senate for consideration.
House Bill 2010 raises the hospital assessment to 6 percent from the current level of 5.3 percent and extends, broadens and raises the premium tax on insurers and managed care organizations.
The bill, a key piece of an effort to plug a $900 million Medicaid budget hole, passed by a margin of 44 to 15.
