Hydrogen sulfide enhances the effectiveness of mesenchymal stem cell therapy in rats with heart failure: In vitro preconditioning versus in vivo co-delivery

In conclusion, NaHS can potentiate the efficiency of BMSC therapy for heart failure by in vitro preconditioning or in vivo co-delivery. The in vitro approach is superior with regard to improving cardiac function in addition to enhancing stem cell proliferation, while the in vivo approach is superior with regard to increasing cardiac VEGF and eNOS expression.Graphical abstract
