Folate deficiency related pancytopenia in pregnancy – A case report

Introduction: Pregnancy is a state of high metabolic demand leading to anemia and thrombocytopenia most commonly resulting from dilutional effect of increased plasma volume. In most cases there is no need for treatment as long as there is no deficiency in micronutrients, which is often seen in developing countries.
