ConclusionRemoving large osteophytes (Grade 2 and Grade 3) from the posterior femoral compartment can be used as an adjuvant strategy to ensure that intraoperative extension is optimal. However removing small osteophytes (Grade 1) should not be expected to affect extension at the time of surgery in TKA and could increase intra-operative time and morbidity.

ConclusionsHistological analysis and manual palpation results showed inhibition of spinal fusion formation with high doses of pregabalin. According to these results, administration of high-dose pregabalin should be avoided at the postoperative period until successful fusion is obtained in patients who undergo spinal fusion surgery.Graphic abstractThese slides can be retrieved under electronic supplementary material.

Abstract There is a wide variety of causes of diffuse lung disease in the intensive care unit patient, of which adult respiratory distress syndrome is the commonest clinical consideration. Plain radiography, computed tomography, and ultrasound can be used synergistically to evaluate patients with diffuse lung disease and respiratory impairment. Imaging is not limited to characterization of the cause of diffuse lung disease but also aids in monitoring its evolution and in ventilator setting management. PMID: 31731896 [PubMed - in process]

ConclusionThe authors recommended short implants whenever the height of available bone permits optimum implant placement. The authors concluded that both treatment options are considered viable clinically and radiographically. However, short implants have shown reduced postoperative discomfort, minimal invasiveness, and reduced cost.
