Call for Nominations: American Psychological Association Division 5 Awards Deadline, December 1: Division 5 is seeking nominations for five different awards that recognize outstanding accomplishment in the Division 5-related areas of quantitative and qualitative research methods, which include assessment, evaluation, measurement, statistics, and qualitative inquiry: • Samuel J. Messick Award for Distinguished Scientific Contributions • Jacob Cohen Award for Distinguished Contributions to Teaching and Mentoring • Anne Anastasi Early Career Award • Anne Anastasi Distinguished Dissertation Award (Quantitative) • NEW: Distinguished Dissertation Award (Qualitative) Individuals working in the area of qualitative methods are particularly encouraged to be nominated for the Messick, Cohen, and Early Career awards. As a new Section of Division 5, the Society for Qualitative Inquiry in Psychology (SQIP) has not previously been represented among the nominees for these awards. Members of SQIP will assist the Awards Committee in reviewing nominees for these awards and for the new Distinguished Dissertation Award (Qualitative). Neither the nominator nor nominee need be a current or former member of either APA or Division 5. Both self-nominations and nominations of others will be considered.
